Scholarships

Our Chapter offers scholarships to both young people and adults in Sussex County through two separate programs. Since the inception of the Scholarship Fund in 2007, the Chapter has awarded $36,000 in scholarships. By the end of 2018, the scholarship awards given will total $45,500.

Indian River High School

Three $1,500 scholarships will be awarded this year to Indian River High School seniors.  Applicants are evaluated in three areas: (1) academic record; (2) extracurricular, community, and work activities; and (3) an essay.  Extra consideration is given to applicants who have or expect to overcome challenges in pursuing their education.

Applications are available to seniors in the guidance office at Indian River High School in the Spring of each year. The scholarships are awarded at the school’s annual Awards Night.

Delaware Technical Community College

Four $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to adult nursing students enrolled at the college. In addition, two $500 scholarships are awarded annually to any adult student.  Two scholarships per semester are offered to nursing students and one per semester is available to any adult student.
