With a letter and plaque from Jo Ann Jenkins, CEO of AARP in Washington, DC, our South Coastal Delaware Chapter #5226 of AARP, Inc. celebrated its 25th anniversary. At its inception in 1998, there were 215 Charter Members, including 69 couples.
We’re so glad to have 10 of these original Charter Members in our chapter today. They are Leon and Georgie Calabrese, Beverly Dalecki, Dorothy McGovern, Shirley Price, Dorothy Rieck, Robert and Janice Shaeffer and E. Lee and Roberta Shoff. We are thankful to them and all our Charter Members for getting us off to a great start. Check out the plaque at our next luncheon!
